I started walking as a form of mental health “exercise”. The photography came about as I began to enjoy all the textures and colors on my hiking trips and wanted a record instead of just my memory. After publishing a few on my Facebook page, my friends began asking if they could buy some. A gallery manager from Arizona contacted me so I started to take my skills seriously.“YOUR ART IS FANTASTIC AND IF YOU WERE HERE IN ARIZONA I WOULD HAVE YOU AS ONE OF OUR ARTISTS HERE AT THE COBRE VALLEY CENTER FOR THE ARTS. YOU HAVE A GREAT EYE FOR DETAILS AND COMPOSITION.”
WIL BOWEN GALLERY MANAGER KNOTTY FOX GALLERY Local Roots , a café, farmer, artist coop, agreed with everyone else and gave me gallery space to start displaying and selling my photographs. I present my photographs on canvas frames or matted ready to hang. I also display a few single photographs. No formal training in photography. I consider myself as an “outsider artist” in photography.“Outsider art is art made by self-taught or supposedly naïve artists with typically little or no contact with the conventions of the art worlds.” Wikipedia
